Brahmhdutt (Dilip Kumar), Premchand (Shafi Inamdar) and Mushtaq Ali Khan (Anupam Kher) have been the closest of friends. Against his wishes, Brahmhdutt's daughter Sonu marries a poor man Indrajeet Sabharwal, who is already married to Radhika and has a son Vijay, from the latter.
