This is a story of two gangsters, Vishnu (Vishnuvardhan) and Shankar (Shankar Nag), who keep on fighting with each other. Vishnu and his gang members are close to Parvathajji (Jayanthi), a widowed villager who is taking care of two orphan kids, Raja (Master Manjunath) and his sister. Election starts and both the gangs are working for their respective parties. Due to his first robbery, Son meets his biological father in a fare and has an unexplained attraction towards him. He has to rob jewels from Cop's daughter Jayanthi, but he hesitates to do it. Jayanthi herself offers all the jewels and plays coy, before her father. As the movie proceeds, son, increasingly known as Bettada Kalla is pitted against the father and only one can survive.
