Mangalam Veettil Manasewari Gupta is a comedy Malayalam film directed by Suresh Vinu, starring Jayaram and Vani Vishwanath. The story unfurls itself in the course of a TV game show, much akin to Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Jayakrishnan (Jayaram), the protagonist, comes to take part in the show, hosted by popular filmstar Mukesh. In the course of the show, the host pries into Jayakrishnan s past and the whole story is unfurled in flashback.Jayakrishnan, his uncle K. R. Menon (Narendra Prasad) and his cousin, Menon s daughter Radhika (Samyuktha Varma), who is Jayakrishnan s sweetheart too, lived together. All of them were lawyers and their house was nicknamed "Kodathi veedu" (Courthouse). Among the lawyers of Kodathi Veedu, Jayakrishnan and his Junior Ponnappan (Kalabhavan Mani) were the only utter. No client ever came in search of Jayakrishnan and he never earned anything. But he decided that he'd marry Radhika only after he had fought and won a legal battle. So Jayakrishnan, along with Ponnappan, decides to reopen the case of Hari Narayanan (Lal), who is locked up in a mental asylum for the past few years. Jayakrishnan, with timely help from Doctor Raziya (Manya), his friend, proves in court that Hari Narayanan is not insane and that he was dubbed a madman by his own brother Raveendran (Janardhanan), who wanted to wrest Hari's property too. It s uncle Menon who fights the suit from the other side. Jayakrishnan wins the case. Hari Narayanan is released from the mental asylum. Jayakrishnan is married to Radhika. But the film takes an altogether turn when Jayakrishnan discovers that Hari Narayanan was actually insane. Jayakrishnan is helpless as he was ashamed to expose Hari Narayanan's insanity. Meanwhile, the insane Hari Narayanan thinks that it was him who married Radhika. Then starts a series of strange happenings after which everybody believes that it is Jayakrishnan who is insane. Meanwhile, Hari Narayanan begins to seek revenge on his brother. He explodes his brother's factory, which causes a huge financial loss. It was Radhika, who legally offered bail for Hari Narayanan, responsible to repay this amount. Obviously, they were not able to pay and Radhika is in prison for this. It was for her release that Jayakrishnan has come for the TV game show. Everything ends well when he wins the game show and free his sweet-heart. more»

Ramesh (Jeetendra) starts managing the office of an industrialist who strongly suspects his relatives to be looting him. Ramesh finds the culprit and keeps a tight leash on everything happening in the office, thereby earning the wrath of the industrialist's relatives. Ramesh and Nisha (the industrialist's daughter Jaya Prada) initially find themselves at loggerheads, but eventually, fall in love with each other. The industrialist is happy about this development until he sees Ramesh cheating on his daughter. He fires Ramesh the very same day. The industrialist is murdered and Jaya Prada also sees Ramesh in her house that same night. Ramesh is dragged to court and is shortly framed for murder. Jaya Prada is upset, and the ill-intentioned relatives start closing their net around her, forcing her to marry Shakti Kapoor (the son of two of the industrialist's relatives). In the meantime, the grief-stricken Ramesh meets another person named Gangu (also Jeetendra) in jail who looks exactly like him. Rajeshwar is the only son of Dharamraj, who is an industrialist, and partners with Naglingam Reddy, Nagendra, and Dhanraj. Rajeshwar then meets a girl from a poor family Bharati, who happens to be his school teachers daughter and falls in love with her. Bharati's father is Vishnupratap a schoolteacher, who is really unhappy for he is unable to earn enough money to feed his family and provide them with basic amenities. He and other teachers work in the school managed by Dharamraj. The fund management headed by Dhanraj have been for years without giving any hike in fees to teachers making them work. When Rajeshwar comes to know of these he starts confronting each lie of the partners.Bharati has a neighbour, Tilak, who is unemployed, and lives with his mother, Sharda, who works as a maidservant in Dhanraj's house. Later he gets the job of a manager in Dharamraj industries and starts almost obstructing all the criminal activities carried out by the three partners. Rajeshwar gets impressed with the sincerity of Tila. Meanwhile, Tilak falls in love with the Dhanraj'daughter, Rani. Dharamraj accidentally meets Sharda and he realises that Tilak is his long lost nephew. Dharamraj tells Rajeshwar the history of his family and how Tilak is related to him. The story focuses on 5 friends Prabhu, Elango, Sundar, Indra and Priya at the Madras Institute of Technology, who want to remain friends throughout their lifespan and hope to join the same company after graduation. During a vacation, Elango goes home where he is forced to get married to his rustic cousin, Eshwari by his tough disciplinarian father. Once back to college he hides the fact about his marriage to his friends but later the marriage becomes public when relatives of Eshwari come to visit Elango. While their dream to work together becomes true, Elango alone gets a transfer to Bombay. The friends fight but later reunites back. Before Elango goes Bombay the friends force him to visit his wife and put him on a train. But Elango manages to get off the train and from there loses touch with his friends and family in the village. The friends part and 6 years later Prabu and Sundar come back to join Priya and Indra in Chennai. On the train journey back, Prabu meets Elango's wife Eashwari. Prabu falls in love with Eashwari without realizing who she is. Eventually he along with his friends finds out the truth about Eashwari, who is waiting with hopes of her husband to return. The four friends decided to help Eshwari find the whereabouts of Elango. One day Prabu finds out that Elango might be in Switzerland. Prabu decides to go to Switzerland. One fine day he finds Elango but to his shocks, Elango has a kid and is married to a Swiss woman. Meanwhile, in India Elango's dad committed suicide. Prabu goes back to India and there he comes to know that everyone knows about Elango's marriage. Eshwari decides to get married again and move on with life rather than thinking about Elango. Her village people decide to marry her off to one of her relatives but she threatens them telling them off that she would decide her own life and no one is going control her life anymore.
