Sitaram Bhardwaj lives in a village in Central India with his daughter, Geeta, who studies in a city. He is asked to contest the state elections against Dhurjan Singh, which he reluctantly accepts. Raju, a farmer lives with his sister Janaki, whom he adores. Venkatappaiah, a rich man plans to marry off his son Dr. Raghu to his brother-in-law Ganapathi s daughter Rani, an advocate.
