Babu and Malik are two inseparable friends who live in a small town in India. One day they decide to play a prank and steal something but get caught. While Malik's dad came to bail out and stand as surety for him, Babu has no one to do so and ends up in the juvenile center. When the two grow up, Malik becomes a Police Inspector, while Babu takes to crime and ends up in jail. When he is released from the jail, he goes to meet his partner-in-crime, Bali, and together they start planning the next heist. Malik meets Babu and tells him to straighten his ways. But Babu had already tried that and ended up being falsely accused of stealing a necklace belonging to his employer's wife. Nevertheless, Babu does inform Bali that he will not be taking part in any crime. Thereafter, Bali and his men are arrested and they blame Babu for ratting on them. Bali is released on bail. When Babu meets him, an argument ensues leading to a fight and Bali is killed. A fearful Babu flees Bombay and lands up in Jogendra Nagar in Northern India, where he meets a man named Bhagat who asks him to masquerade as Kundan, the sole heir of a wealthy man named Shahji. Babu becomes Kundan and makes his way into the hearts of Shahji, his wife Rukmani and daughter Maya. Babu gets enough cash to pay off Bhagat in small installments but Bhagat becomes greedy and wants Babu to steal all the cash and jewellery and abscond. Babu is reluctant to steal from the kind people. To make matters worse, he has fallen in love with Maya - apparently his 'sister'. Caught between a rock and a hard place - no matter what move Babu makes - he will surely end up trapping himself - not only with Bhagat but with his new found family as well as the police - who are now hot on his trail. more»

In the crowded bylanes of Old Delhi, Shuklaji runs a small photo studio as a facade for a small-time crime. Over the years he has groomed a bunch of youngsters in the art of pickpocketing and petty crime. Satbir, a gang member, wants to give up a life of vice and make a fresh beginning. He bumps into Neena on his first respectable job assignment and falls for her. Meanwhile, another crook Amol and his gang of slow-witted goons are on the lookout for smart men to enlist in their crew. He has his eye on Ronnie, one of Shukla's proteges, but Shukhla seems too big an obstacle to surmount. Ronnie however, has had it with the low budget stuff and can't wait to hit the big game. While, Ronnie finds admission in Amol's gang at the behest of kidnapping a diamond merchant, Purshottam Das, Satbir on the other hand takes to a clean life and pursues Neena. Curious about Satbir's connections, Neena asks him about his cronies and if she could watch them live in action. Though hesitant at first, Satbir gives in to her request just to win her over. The plot revolves around the life in a typical, Malayali household- consisting of four brothers- Nandakumar- A Hindi teacher in the local school, Gopakumar- A medical representative, Krishnakumar- A court office clerk and Chandrakumar- a college student (also the youngest), in order of their age. The first three brothers are married to- Kausalya, Indumati, Anandam; 3 naive, and shallow wives who adore their husbands dearly and whom the husbands equally love. The family is headed by their father, Munshi Parameshwaran Pillai, a veteran Gandhian teacher respected by everyone in their village, who also homeschools his grandchildren. The youngest brother Chandrakumar is in love with his to-be engaged fianc e, Asha, his cousin. Their relationship is oppressed by the family members because of a small feud between them. But otherwise, the household is a happy, peaceful and satisfied one until the arrival of their new neighbor- an irresistibly charming and beautiful South Indian heroine- Yamuna Rani. This turns the household upside down and sends the ladies into a frenzy. The ladies in order to please the superstar, glamourizes themselves, their husbands and the house. Thus, they form a formidable friendship with Yamuna Rani. Soon, trouble starts to brew when the loan with which they bought their new household items in order to impress Yamuna Rani needs to be paid back to the moneylender. The trouble further escalates when the ladies, each, receive a letter from an anonymous identity, which claims that one of the three men are having an extramarital affair with Yamuna Rani. With the arrival of the letter, which devastates the ladies, chaos ensues. The husbands are severely under pressure from their respective wives, who are trying to find out who that one person is. The distraught wives go to Yamuna Rani and plead, which leads her to attempt suicide. Thus the husbands are taken into custody by the local police on account of traumatizing Yamuna Rani. Later it is revealed that it was the Munshi, who sent the letter to the ladies to end their modus operandi. Yamuna Rani recovers later and testifies that it was not because of the husbands, but due to her own mother who was pressurizing her of act inappropriately in a certain movie, that led her to attempt suicide. In the end all's well- Yamuni Rani heading back to her illustrious career taking with her the love and affection shown by the members of Shantinilayam. more»
